CURRICULUM
Academics
As one of NYC’s top middle schools, we provide an accelerated academic program that culminates in honors English, as well as Regents exams in Earth Science, Algebra, and U.S. History and Government. After three years studying Spanish, our students take the Spanish Proficiency exam for high school credit.
The inclusive Manhattan East curriculum is designed to engage and challenge our students and provide them with artistic outlets to cultivate their creativity and enhance their skills.
Electives
The elective program at Manhattan East is an important part of our curriculum. All of our students have the opportunity to specialize in one of three artistic disciplines consisting of visual art, music, or dance. Electives are double period blocks that meet twice a week. For more information on our arts programs, see our arts pages.
Global Kids Afterschool Program
Global Kids offers a range of year-round programs in schools, online, and at our headquarters. We work primarily with middle school and high school youth, and also provide professional development and capacity building services for educators and institutions, and special training for youth.
