Ms. Barnes

Ms. Barnes believes all children deserve a challenging and exemplary education that deals with the broad spectrum of the core curriculum.  As a teacher, I welcome the opportunity to promote independence while enriching each child's learning through a multiple intelligence  approach that will encourage analytical thinking, enhance their knowledge, develop skill mastery and embrace creativity.

Mr. Macaluso

Patrick Duffy has been teaching English Language Arts in New York City since 2007, and has been at Manhattan East since 2009.  He graduated from Fairfield University with a bachelors degree in American and British literature and has a masters degree from Mercy College in Adolescence Education.  In addition to teaching English, Duffy has also taught Social Studies, various different electives, and is a professional guitarist in his free time, heading his own rock band that plays in NYC and the Tri-state area

Mr. Mac has been teaching since 2001, and has been teaching at Manhattan East since 2004.  He has a B.A. in Earth and Atmospheric Science from the State University of New York at Albany, and a M.S. in Art Education from SUNY College at New Paltz. In addition to teaching, Mr. Mac enjoys pursuing his own artistic endeavors, which include woodworking, oil painting, and photography. He has also had two children's books published and is learning to tattoo.

Mr. Scanlon is a veteran science teacher who really loves being in the classroom. He is very passionate about science and never tires of its ability to define the boundaries of our changing world. He also loves young people and believes that it is a great privilege to participate in their intellectual and personal development.
